Settling In

We’ve started our second week of school and we’re moving right along. Today we finished our Essential Spelling Lists Words, after an herculean effort. I’ve been very impressed with the level of spelling of this class. They are the strongest spellers I have seen in second grade in my 5 years of teaching this level. We will start reading tests tomorrow.
To help your child during this first testing period, you can make sure that he or she is getting enough sleep, and that they are eating healthy foods and drinking water. Be sure to send a water bottle to school. The brain needs water to function efficiently, so help your child stay hydrated.
