Grade 5 presented their exhibition for the second day today. They spent 10 weeks studying energy resources and the choices we can make about energy. The result is a truly impressive display with presentation boards, websites, powerpoint presentations, books, puppets, and much much more. We were really impressed when we visited today.
The Grade 5 exhibition is the culmination of the PYP experience, and it is obvious that these fifth graders put in a great deal of effort and thought into their learning. Just think, 3 short years from now, our current second graders will be presenting theirs! I can’t wait.
IST will celebrate Earth Day with a whole school activity and assembly. Students have been collecting reusable trash to create a fashion item or a sculpture, and these will be displayed in a parade during the assembly.
To make sure we have enough time, the Nursery to Grade 2 division set aside additional time for Earth Day creations today between the two recesses. On Monday, those groups that need more time can complete their items while the rest of us watch the environmentalist movie, Fern Gully.
The Earth Day assembly promises to be a good one. The whole school community is invited to attend. Hope to see you there.
